LET Golf: Anna Huang makes history as youngest player, aged 17, to win three titles on tour with Lalla Meryem Cup victory

Anna Huang made history on the Ladies European Tour (LET) on Saturday, becoming the youngest player in the history of the competition to win three events, after she claimed a one-shot victory at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

The 17-year-old, who turned professional in 2025, is competing in only her second full season on the LET, but is already making headlines, with the Canadian coming from six shots back to shoot a sensational seven-under-par 66 at the Royal Golf Dar Essalam Golf Club to outlast Australian Kelsey Bennett with a final score of 14 under par.

Huang got off to a flying start, going three under par through her first two holes, with a birdie and an eagle on the first and second.

She backed that up with four straight birdies between holes five and eight, before giving one back to the course with a bogey on the ninth.

She bounced back with a birdie on the 14th and showed her composure to finish her round with four straight pars and, as a result, claimed a cash prize of €67,500 (£58,306) and moved to No 3 on the LET's Order of Merit.

Huang now surpasses Lydia Ko as the youngest player to win three titles on the LET, following her victories at the La Sella Open and Lacoste Ladies Open de France in 2026.

"I'm honestly just so shocked right now," Huang said. "I didn't know where the leaderboard was, and I didn't know where Kelsey was.

"I was just trying to stay patient and make pars in the last few holes. But it ended up being the win for me."

The Canadian has enjoyed a fine vein of form in her last two LET starts, finishing T7 at the Investec SA Women's Open in April and T3 at last week's Amundi German Masters.

"I got a little nervous on the back nine. I mean, everyone would. But I just kept playing my own game. To get my third win on tour in only my second year is incredible. I'm just trying to enjoy the moment!"

Bennett, who had begun her final round at 13 under, moved her score to 16 under through her opening 10 holes, with four birdies and one bogey.

However, the Australian slumped with seven holes to go, conceding bogeys on the 12th, 16th and 18th holes to finish her round at level-par and the tournament in second place.

England's Cara Gainer, who won the event last year, ended the week at eight under par and tied for sixth. A brilliant second-round score of four under par, which included two eagles and two birdies, propelled the 30-year-old into contention.

However, a final-round score of 71 saw her drop down the leaderboard, with Gainer finishing on Saturday with four birdies and two bogeys.

Sara Kouskova will look to defend her Evian Resort Golf Club as the LET heads to the Evian Resort Golf Club in France next week.

The LET and LPGA Tours will then turn their attention to the second major championship of the year, the US Women's Open at Riviera Country Club in California.
